A&S Student Communications team recognized among Canada’s best
The Faculty of Arts & Science Student Communications team has been honoured with three Silver Leaf Awards of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
The team was recognized for two publications – the Welcome Guide and Viewbook – as well as for a video series.
Praised by evaluators as a “great piece,” the welcome guide provides key information to students who have been offered admission to the Faculty of Arts & Science. They also commented that the publication “flows well, and will give students a sense of belonging and feeling welcome even before they step foot on campus on their first day.”
The Viewbook – which provides a comprehensive overview of the Faculty from an undergraduate perspective – also garnered high praise.
In the words of one evaluator: “Having sent and financed four children to six different universities and colleges, this evaluator can make the claim that this is one of the better college publications I have read.”
The ‘My Favourite Spaces’ video series – completed entirely in-house – featured one segment about each College in the Faculty, as well as a more general video about Toronto.
The evaluators deemed it a “great product with easy to follow storylines and compelling for the intended audiences,” noting that it was videos were “creatively done, especially on very limited budget.”
